C330HO HydroSeeder - 3,000 Gallon Tank
The C330/C400 HydroMulching Unit features many of the design innovations that Epic has become famous for such as all hydraulic controls for the agitation system, spray pump, and mulch grinder. The C330HO/C400HO utilizes a Vortex Centrifugal pump that is capable of pumping thick slurries of the most difficult mulches up to 300 feet from the turret gun. This pump also reduces maintenance because it requires no adjustment whatsoever. In addition to the stainless steel slurry tank, 100 gallon flush tank and wireless remote, there are popular options such as the hydraulic bale grinder, hydraulic hose reel, and a second turret which can also be added to the C330HO/C400HO. - Every function on an Epic HydroMulcher is completely hydraulically powered. This includes the spray pump, agitators, mulch grinder, and hose reel.
- The only maintenance required is a visual inspection to confirm hydraulic fluid level on the sight gauge and to confirm filter operation with the color coded filter gauges
- Every winter you should send in a hydraulic fluid sample to a local fluid analysis lab. If contamination and viscosity are within acceptable parameters, keep using the hydraulic fluid. If levels are bad, change the hydraulic fluid. It should easily be several years before fluid change is required.
- Competitive units with direct drive systems have significantly more maintenance.
- Belt driven units have clutches and belts that wear over time and require regular adjustment and replacement.
- Direct coupled units have clutches that wear over time and require regular adjustment and replacement.
Engine Forward Design

- Because we hydraulically power everything on our HydroMulchers, we can locate the engine in the best spot possible. We chose the front of the unit for several very important reasons.
- Durability - The rear of the machine is the dirty end. Inevitably, mulch and slurry spray into or are washed into this area causing a corrosive nightmare. Having the engine at the front of the unit removes it from this harsh environment.
- Maintenance - Every service point on our engine is on the front side closest to the cab of the truck. We have an 18" service access platform between the engine and the cab that makes it easy to get to each of these service points. The easier an engine is to service, the more likely it will be done.
- Operator Comfort - Relocating the engine to the front of the machine moves the noise, vibration, exhaust, and heat away from the operators working at the rear of the machine.
Stainless Steel Slurry Tank
Click For More InformationStainless Steel Slurry Tank
- The slurry tank on all Epic HydroMulchers is constructed of 304 grade stainless steel - standard.
- This includes every portion of the tank that comes in contact with the slurry including any gussets, the lid, loading hatches, and paddle blades.
- Unlike our competitors units that are constructed of carbon steel, our stainless steel tanks require no internal coating.
- Internal coal tar coatings require regular maintenance if you want your tank to last. This maintenance includes climbing inside to scrape any loose coating and sand out any imperfections. Then those areas must be re-coated. Estimated costs are $500 to $750 every time you have to do this. Most contractors do this every year.
- Epic's stainless steel tanks never require coating and last virtually forever. We provide a 15 year anti-corrosion warranty on our tanks.
Fully Boxed Subframe
Click For More InformationFully Boxed Subframe
- The subframe on our Epic chassis mounted HydroMulchers is constructed of fully enclosed box tubing.
- This eliminates any nooks and crannies where mulch can collect and cause corrosion.
- Our competitors use a fabricated sheet metal structure under their units. This fabricated sheet metal is in the shape of a J. This J shape can collect corrosive slurry and road grime, leading to premature rusting and eventually structural failure.
- One of the main reasons customers buy a new unit from us is because their old unit has rotted away and must be replaced.
- Combine our fully enclosed box tubing subframe with our stainless steel tanks and you have a unit built to last...with minimal maintenance and upkeep required.
Vertical Tank Legs
Click For More InformationVertical Tank Legs
- In addition to providing more surface area for your rolling billboard, the vertical tank sides and tank legs on our Epic HydroMulchers have a greater purpose.
- When mixing and when cleaning off the top deck of your hydroseeder, corrosive slurry runs down the sides of your tank.
- Competitive units with sides that curve down to the truck chassis are the perfect runway for that corrosive slurry to get into your truck chassis and suspension systems...leading to massive corrosion and structural concerns on your truck.
- Epic's vertical sides shed that slurry off onto the ground and away from the truck chassis and suspension.
- Having a stainless steel tank is kind of irrelevant if your truck is rotting away underneath it.

Aggressive Paddle Design
Click For More InformationAggressive Paddle Design
- Our paddle blades have the most surface area in the industry. This creates an aggressive mixing action.
- Our paddle blades have a symmetrical design that provides equal mixing energy in both directions. Our competitors paddle blades provide most of their mixing energy in one direction.
- Our hydraulic system gives you the ability to run the paddles as fast or as slow as you want in either direction independent of engine rpm and spray pump rpm.
- Combined with our mulch grinder, our HydroMulchers are going to be ready to spray faster than any unit on the market today.
All Hydraulic Power

- The heart of the performance of our Epic Hydromulchers is our hydraulic system.
- It allows for completely independent operation of our mulch grinder, paddle agitation system, and spray pump.
- When mixing thick, viscous slurries of difficult mulches, you need an aggressive agitation system to get the slurry mixed quickly. Once mixed, you need to slow down the paddles to make sure air isn't whipped into the slurry.
- Our hydraulic system allows you to slow down the paddles without adjusting engine rpm. When you are ready to spray, you can run the spray pump at full blast for maximum spray distance and output without affecting engine rpm or paddle speed.
- On competitive machines, you need to rev up the engine to increase pump output. If the paddles are belt driven, you speed up the paddles as well which could lead to cavitation issues.
Hydraulic Mulch Grinder
Click For More InformationHydraulic Mulch Grinder
- Our grinder processes mulch fast, but that isn't one of its primary benefits.
- Benefit #1 - Grinding mulch eliminates shock load on the paddle shaft, bearings, and seals...prolonging their life and eliminating down time.
- Benefit #2 - Processing mulch through the grinder eliminates the issue of mulch bales floating above the paddles. The smaller pieces are easily mixed into the slurry, regardless of water level..
- Benefit #3 - Erosion Control Mulches mix faster and more thoroughly if they are processed through a mulch grinder.
Integral Fresh Water Flush Tank
Click For More InformationIntegral Fresh Water Flush Tank
- The 100 gallon flush tank is automatically refilled when the slurry tank is filled with water.
- After every tankload or at the end of the day, you can flush the pump body, plumbing, and hoses right on the jobsite.
- Flushing the pump body, all plumbing, and all hoses can be accomplished in less than 15 seconds. Think about how long it takes to clear a clog.
- Flushing eliminates the potential for clogging that causes downtime and kills productivity.
- Flushing with water is much more effective than flushing with air. Air does not completely flush out the pump body like water can. Air can also tunnel through plumbing and hoses without completely flushing them out.
Vortex Slurry Pump
Click For More InformationVortex Slurry Pump
- Vortex design eliminates the tight tolerances that lead to clogging and cavitation in competitive centrifugal pumps.
- Vortex pumps are capable of pumping thicker slurries of more difficult mulches.
- Vortex pumps are less prone to vapor locking which requires back flushing or bleeding off air in other centrifugal pumps
- Our Vortex pump provides industry leading flow and pressure which allows you to spray farther and empty the tank faster.
High Flow Suction Line
Click For More InformationHigh Flow Suction Line
- We have a six inch suction line with only one 90 degree elbow feeding our Vortex Slurry Pump.
- Competitive machines have as many as three 90 degree elbows and smaller plumbing.
- Every elbow ads the equivalent of six feet of suction pipe that the pump must pull slurry through.
- Elbows also add turbulence that can cause cavitation.
All Hydraulic Power

- In addition to the maintenance benefits of our All Hydraulic Power System, your operators will find that it makes our HydroMulchers much easier to operate as well.
- You no longer have to rev the throttle up and down to control spray output.
- You no longer have to engage and disengage the clutch to turn the spray pump off and on.
- All of these functions are controlled by a simple to use hydraulic valve.
- The engine runs at 1800 rpm for mixing and most spraying applications. If maximum spray distance is desired, one push of the throttle rocker switch revs the engine up to 2200 rpm. The throttle toggle switch is located right next to the hydraulic valve that controls the spray pump, easily within reach while spraying the turret gun.
Engine Forward Design
Click For More InformationEngine Forward Design
- Our Engine Forward Design locates the noise, vibration, heat, and exhaust up front away from the operator.
- This provides for a much more comfortable work environment.
- It is also possible to speak at normal volume levels which contributes to safer operations.
Hydraulic Mulch Grinder
Click For More InformationHydraulic Mulch Grinder
- Our competition either has no grinder, or a grinder that requires you to break the bales in two or more pieces.
- Some mulch breaks up easy enough that you can drop a whole bale in the tank and the paddles can do all the work.
- Sometimes though, the mulch is densely packed or its an erosion control mulch and the best practice is to break it up by hand so the paddles don't jamb or the bales don't float too much which prolongs mixing.
- Our mulch grinder eliminates this extra labor.
- With our mulch grinder, you can process a whole bale of mulch in approximately 2 seconds.
- Your slurry will be ready to spray faster with our Epic Mulch Grinder
Industry Leading Top Deck Storage Space
Click For More InformationIndustry Leading Top Deck Storage Space
- The top deck mulch storage area on Epic Contractor Series HydroMulchers is the largest in the industry.
- This allows you to take more mulch to the jobsite.
- This cuts down on the time spent restocking your machine throughout the day.
- 60" wide swing gates accommodate loading full pallets of mulch and materials.
- Our non-skid surface provides a safe working platform for your operators.
Integral Fresh Water Flush Tank
Click For More InformationIntegral Fresh Water Flush Tank
- When you are done spraying a tankload, you typically have to wait until you get back to your water source to flush your pump, plumbing, and hoses.
- Sometimes clogging occurs during the drive back to the water source.
- Air flush systems are ineffective at completely flushing the pump, plumbing, and hoses.
- Our chassis mounted HydroMulchers are equipped with a 100 gallon fresh water flush tank
- It automatically fills every time you fill the slurry tank. When it's full, it simply overflows into the slurry tank, so there are no valves you need to shut off.
- The flush tank can flush your pump body, plumbing, and hoses right on the jobsite in about 10 seconds...virtually eliminating the risk of clogs.

Centralized Valve Access
Click For More InformationCentralized Valve Access
- Every valve used to control our Epic HydroMulchers is easkily accessible from a single location on the curb side of the machine.
- This includes the turret valve, hose reel valve, recirculation line valve, suction line valve, flush tank drain valve, and flush tank fill valve.
- This makes it easy for your operator to set up the machine for the day's work.
- It also makes it simple to flush the pump, plumbing, and hoses between tanks and at the end of the day.
Ergonomic Turret Gun Handle
Click For More InformationErgonomic Turret Gun Handle
- Our turret gun handle can be positioned at 0 degree, 20 degree, and 40 degree height increments for different height operators or for spraying comfortably up steep slopes.
- It is also shaped in a loop to make it easier to reach to control the turret when spraying at the extremes in either direction.
- These upgrades may not sound like much, but they definitely improve operator comfort and reduce fatigue during a long day of turret gun spraying.
LED Driver Communication System
Click For More InformationLED Driver Communication System
- Most units use a horn for the machine operator to communicate with the driver.
- This frequently leads to confusion and the intended response is not always what the operator was asking for.
- We have introduced an LED Communication system to simplify this process.
- The operator has two buttons connected to a red and a green LED light up by the cab of the truck.
- The driver can see these LED lights in his side mirror.
- He can shut his window, turn on the AC and the radio, and have a better chance of doing what the operator wants by simply observing the red and green LED lights.
- This is such a simple but effective solution.
Pivoting Hose Reel Platform
Click For More InformationPivoting Hose Reel Platform
- Our pivoting hose reel is mounted on a robust platform with a central pivot bearing that is maintenance free and four perimeter roller wheels that support the weight of the reel and hose.
- This is a much sturdier solution than those found on competitive units.
- The pivoting reel facilitates easy loading and unloading of hose regardless of whether you backed into the job or pulled up curbside.
